Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne. We serve a population of approximately 259,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki. Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.
He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
Cardiology Services has a permanent position available for an experienced Cardiac Sonographer, working 80 hours per fortnight based at Whakatāne Hospital.
The applicant's entry level into this position needs to be an internationally recognised qualification, and or, a post-graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound. The applicant must have or be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB) or the Australian Sonography Accreditation Registry (ASAR) and hold a current annual practicing certificate.
The role requires performing and reporting on transthoracic cardiac ultrasound examinations, for both inpatients and outpatients, acute needs in ED, ACU and theatre. A willingness to travel and support the satellite clinics which serve our rural outlying communities is essential.

The successful applicant will:

The successful applicant must have at least 3 years continuous clinical experience in the field of Cardiac Sonography.
All candidates must be eligible to work in New Zealand.
