We have an opportunity for a Registered Nurse in Comprehensive Mental Health to join our Consultation Psychiatric Liaison Team at Tauranga Hospital.
This team receives referrals for both in-patient and out-patient services for people of all ages who are presenting with an acute mental health condition in combination with significant co-morbidities or who present post self-harm.
This position is challenging yet rewarding, from the complexity of illnesses and the presenting acuity plus day-to-day demands. The Consultation Liaison Team is a highly skilled team with lots of knowledge that they are willing to share with you and support you in the development of your chosen career pathway.
The role available is for casual hours, working ‘as and when required' to cover days with high demand at Tauranga Hospital.
Mōu - About You
This nursing position will undertake acute assessment, treatment and short term follow ups for people across the age range. The successful applicant will be required to have an excellent understanding of mental health conditions across the age ranges, Mental Health Act, PPPR Act, understanding of capacity assessment work up, a range of therapeutic modalities, dementia/delirium nursing care, and experience working with drug and alcohol issues.
You will need to be flexible, adaptable and be able to demonstrate and live up to the CARE values of Te Whatu Ora. You will be working with a dynamic and experienced team who are passionate about the work that they do.
Ideally you will have a minimum of 5 years post graduate mental health experience and or Post graduate qualification in speciality mental health nursing as a prerequisite.
