Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is spread across a vast geographical area and centred across two hospitals based in Tauranga and Whakatāne.  We serve a population of approximately 308,000 for the major population centres of Tauranga, Katikati, Te Puke, Whakatāne, Kawerau and Ōpōtiki.  Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty is one of the Bay of Plenty's largest employers with over 4000 staff.

He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role

The Bay of Plenty Addiction Service is looking for a Registered Health Professional to join our Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) Team. We are a regional service, covering the whole of the Bay of Plenty, and based at Tauranga Hospital. You will be joining a small but experienced and supportive team specialised in the delivery of addictions treatments to our opioid-dependent whaiora.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in OST and a good understanding of the principles of harm reduction, OST treatment options, and the risks and benefits of this unique treatment approach.

We are looking for someone with at least 2 years post-registration experience of working in the wider addictions field, but we will also consider applications from less experienced clinicians if they have the personal qualities we are looking for. An ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team is essential for this role, as are excellent assessment, risk management and interpersonal / communication skills.

This position is open to Registered Nurses, Social Workers, and Occupational Therapists and DAPAANZ-registered clinicians.  This is a permanent position however we are also interested to hear from candidates who are looking for part-time hours, a fixed-term contract or a secondment from another Hauora a Toi district.
