He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role

We are seeking either new graduate or experienced Physiotherapists looking to work rotational ward based roles.  You will be passionate about acute physiotherapy therapy and/or wish to extend your current skills This exciting opportunity will be based in the Allied Health Inpatient team at Whakatāne Hospital. This role rotates on a four monthly basis through Medical, Surgical, paediatric/ED/maternity and rehab wards. 

The ideal candidate will be able to work Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm with some weekend and stat day work an expected part of this role.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a NZ recognised Physiotherapy Therapy qualification and be registered with the board
  • Have a compassionate nature, who can demonstrate reflexivity and adaptable practice, remaining calm and organised within a challenging, and fast-paced environment 
  • Have excellent communication
  • Produce timely, accurate written documentation

Children's Act 2014

Due to this position having contact with children and Te Whatu Ora Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty's commitment to child protection, you will be subject to ‘safety checks' under the Children's Act at the time of hire and thereafter as per the relevant legislation. 

Salary range for this position is $55,535 to $87,034.
