We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist for our Clinical Lead vacancy who is passionate about acute occupational therapy. This exciting opportunity will be based in the Allied Health Inpatient team at Whakatāne Hospital and will rotate through Medical, Surgical, and Float – which includes Paediatrics, Maternity and ED.
This role is Monday to Friday 8am – 4.30pm. Some weekend or public holiday work may be required from time to time.
With no day being the same, you will hit the ground running working on our acute hospital wards with people of diverse cultures and ages. Working within a dynamic, fun, and supportive team you will provide excellent and responsive, person and whānau-centred care.
You will use your clinical leadership skills to nurture and develop our service both within the Occupational Therapy space and within the transdisciplinary space.

The successful candidate will:
- Hold a NZ recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and be registered with the board
- Have a compassionate nature, who can demonstrate reflexivity and adaptable practice, remaining calm and organised within a challenging, and fast-paced environment
- Have excellent communication and conflict management skills
- Produce timely, accurate written documentation
