Clinical Engineering Technician at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Hauora a Toi Bay of Plenty, Bay of Plenty

He Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role

We are looking for an experienced clinical engineering technician or a technician who is eager to learn and develop their career.  The position is based at Tauranga Hospital with the potential for regular travel to Whakatāne Hospital and occasional travel throughout the region.  

The clinical engineering industry is constantly evolving and updating due to technological advances in the field.  This will require the successful candidate to be adaptable and apply their engineering skills to new challenges.  There will be training and development opportunities provided. 

The duties will include:

  • Service, repair preventative maintenance and a testing of a wide range of medical equipment across the district
  • Liaising with clinical staff at all levels 

He Korero mōu - About You

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:   

Essential

  • Registered Electrical Appliance Service Person with a current Practicing Licence
  • A Diploma, Certificate or Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Positive attitude and self-motivated
  • Computer literate
  • Be a team player who can also work independently
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • A willingness to learn and improve skill sets
  • Current driving licence 

Desirable

  • Previous hands-on experience in preventative maintenance of medical equipment
  • An understanding of AS/NZS 3551, AS/NZS 3760 and / or AS/NZS 2500 Standards
