About the Role
The Senior Advisor plays a pivotal role in shaping and delivering regional communication strategies that drive meaningful health outcomes for New Zealanders. This position leads the design and implementation of strategies, ensuring communication channels, events, and initiatives are managed with impact and clarity. You will work with a high-performing team who works all over the region.
The role requires a strong ability to anticipate and assess emerging regional risks, responding proactively to challenges while continually pursuing innovative and effective approaches, whether that be through new platforms, strategic campaigns, or community engagement, in order to strengthen the reach and credibility of regional communications.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- A relevant qualification in a related field (such as PR, communications, journalism, marketing, or politics).
- Approximately five years' experience in a relevant communications role.
- Proven experience contributing to the development of communication strategies and leading their successful implementation.
- The ability to navigate complex, high-pressure, and ambiguous situations with confidence.
- Demonstrated experience building effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, along with a strong understanding of their operational environments and contexts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical capability, with the ability to anticipate and solve problems, think critically, and apply sound judgement.
- Experience implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice.
