Billing System Analyst at Te Whatu Ora, Canterbury

About the Role 

The Billing System Analyst plays a key role in managing and maintaining the Pathology Division's billing processes. This position ensures accurate client invoicing, revenue capture, and the integrity of data within the pathology billing application.

You will support system development by reviewing business processes, assisting with the design and testing of system changes, and ensuring updates are user-friendly and effective. Keeping user documentation current and delivering training to end users are also essential responsibilities.

Additionally, the role involves managing contract billing, reporting, and pricing analysis. You will ensure contracts are billed correctly, provide regular data insights, respond to billing queries, and prepare reports for business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage pathology billing systems and processes
  • Ensure accurate invoicing, revenue capture, and data integrity
  • Review business processes and assist with system enhancements
  • Test and validate system changes for usability and accuracy
  • Update user documentation when required
  • Prepare and deliver billing reports and respond to queries

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Strong ability to analyse business needs and develop workable solutions.
  • 3–5 years' experience with complex billing systems or databases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in contract management and administration.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organisational and time‑management skills.
  • A strong customer service focus.
  • Health sector experience is an advantage.
