Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
At Toitū Te Whenua - Land Information New Zealand, our collaborative, supportive and social health, safety, and wellbeing team are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Senior Business Partner to join the team and support the continuous improvement of our health, safety, and wellbeing capability and performance.
With significant experience in providing reliable, practical, and technical health and safety advice in a complex and dynamic risk environment, you'll work alongside the team to support the development and implementation of health and safety policies, processes and systems along with monitoring and engagement processes. This will help ensure that the H&S team, business units, and Toitū Te Whenua are best placed to partner with our internal and external stakeholders to maintain the safety of workers and others.
You will confidently translate technical information into plain English for your non-technical audiences and will take the initiative to ensure that your messaging is clear and appealing. You will draw on your working knowledge of New Zealand Health and Safety legislation to identify opportunities for development, and to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
We are looking for someone who has significant operational experience and who is equally comfortable and capable communicating with and influencing front line workers, senior leaders, and external stakeholders.
This an exciting opportunity where you will get to build your understanding and connections of the diverse work that is performed across our organisation. You will be able to enable and support stakeholders to identify hazards, whilst using our H&S information management system to register, manage and review the associated risks. - Genuine passion for H&S best practice
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or relevant experience within a similar role with an emphasis on operational experience
- Working knowledge of New Zealand H&S legislation
- Strong communication skills
- A natural ability to build effective and trusted influential relationships,
- Demonstrate effective understanding of the contract environment as it relates to a role of this type
