- Contribute to Te Mano o Te Taiao – the Aotearoa New Zealand Biodiversity Strategy, by supporting the planning and delivery of priority biodiversity work on the ground.

- Four weeks + three days annual leave per year pro-rata, flexible working options.

He angitūtanga | About the role
Reporting to the Biodiversity Systems Performance Manager, our Regional Liaison Advisors will work collaboratively with Operations to provide integrated biodiversity advice to support delivery of Te Mana o te Taiao / Aotearoa New Zealand Biodiversity Strategy and DOC's four-year biodiversity business plan.
As Regional Liaison Advisor you will be contributing to regional biodiversity outcomes by ensuring the Regional Operations Directors and teams are supported with regionally relevant biodiversity advice. Some travel will be required between Nelson and Hokitika, and to Wellington. While this role is about enhancing conservation outcomes, it's about working well with people to apply exemplary social process.
You will also be responsible for improving national biodiversity systems, policies and processes through providing a strong feedback loop from the regions and driving continuous improvement at place. You will liaise with a variety of technical specialists to provide integrated advice that supports strategically aligned regional work programmes.

- Strong and effective communication skills, with confidence in facilitation and influencing.
- Proven ability to synthesise complex technical and scientific information and communicate to non-scientific audiences.
- Experience of working in partnership with iwi and an understanding of Māori Tikanga and protocols, and Mātauranga Māori.
- Tertiary qualification in biological sciences, or equivalent experience.
- Full New Zealand Driver Licence.

The salary range for this position is $101,453.00 to $129,636.00 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
