As a Regional Business Support Officer, you will support and lead part of our Business Support Team as well as lead some regional work across the Eastern South Island. This role is based in the Regional Office in Christchurch.
As part of the Eastern South Island Business Support leadership team, you will:
- Coordinate and support the delivery of effective Business Support services to internal work teams
- Supervise, coach, mentor and support part of the Business Support team
- Support and implement DOC system/technology changes across the ESI Region
- Co-ordinate and manage regional activities for the national property team
- Support financial process such as timesheets, payroll and SAP invoicing
This is an office-based role, working Monday to Friday with travel required to the District Offices.

If you have the following skills and attributes, we are keen to hear from you:
- A qualification in business/office administration/facility coordination or considerable equivalent leadership experience in a similar area
- Solid communication skills and a drive to deliver an exceptional customer experience in every interaction
- Proven ability to manage confidential/sensitive material with discretion
- Great people interactions, collaborating and building lasting relationships
- A thorough knowledge in the Microsoft Office suite
- The ability to turn your hand to a multitude of tasks, experience in change management and implementing new systems and processes.
- The ability to think critically, use initiative and independent judgement to deal with tasks that require immediate attention
- An understanding of the work of the Department and how it contributes to New Zealand's future sustainability
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Tikanga Māori and Te Ao Māori
- A current NZ drivers licence

The salary range for this position is $62,535 to $79,906 with the starting salary of the successful applicant being based on their relevant skills and experience.
