Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Asset Planner looking for a rewarding career contributing to the management of New Zealand's Recreational and Historic resources.  This is an exciting time to join DOC and grow your career within a highly experienced and motivated team environment.

 

The role

As the Asset Planner you will be a key member of the operations planning team.  You will develop and maintain the AMIS database for all Recreational and Historic work programmes across the districts.  You will be responsible for ensuring work management systems are kept up to date while working with district operations teams to develop & prioritise the work programmes.

 

About you

Ideally you will have an understanding of Recreation infrastructure, Historic, Treaty Partnership or Community work. You're comfortable working in the detail of asset/work management systems, ideally with experience in either SAP or AMIS.  You will have proven experience in relationship building, as a key part of your role will be working closely with operations staff delivering the programmes. You will be risk aware and motivated by working with others to achieve common goals. 

 

Key Skills

  • Understanding of Recreation, Historic, Treaty Partnership or Community work is desirable
  • Understanding of asset/work management principals, practices and systems
  • Proven ability to manage and analyse data to identify risk and provide quality assurance
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, engagement and relationship management skills
  • Knowledge of capital and operational budget management in the Government sector is desirable
  • Able to plan, and organise work and resources over a programme of work to meet timeframes
