The Aotea/Great Barrier District is part of the Auckland Operations Region which includes Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland Mainland District, the Auckland Inner Islands District, and the Aotea/Great Barrier District. The Auckland Region hosts close to 40% of New Zealand's population and is a major gateway and destination for international and regional visitors.

 

The Operations Manager for the Aotea/Great Barrier District will be located on Great Barrier Island and will be accountable for ensuring the effective management of the significant biodiversity, visitor and historic assets within the District. They will also play a crucial role linking and involving the work we do with our treaty partners and the Great Barrier community. The Operations Manager will play an additional important role in helping develop initiatives that will grow the social, cultural and economic opportunities for the island and the island community.

To be successful in this role you will have strong leaderships skills and be a highly effective relationship manager.

 

A background in conservation management is required along with the experience and willingness to create a strong safety first environment, ensuring there is a positive safety culture and consistent safety practice across all work sites.
