He angitūtanga | About the role

The Project Stream Lead Role will be responsible for leading delivery of multiple workstreams for the redevelopment of key visitor infrastructure for Rākau Rangatira in the Waipoua Forest. 

The Rakau Rangatira project will create new infrastructure which will put the health of the Waipoua Forest first while also enabling a more immersive visitor experience that promotes Te Roroa as tangata whenua. The project is currently in the design and consent phase and is scheduled for completion in late 2024.

As a Project Stream you will be supporting the Project Manager to complete the design, consent, tendering and construction phases of the project by working with our project partners Te Roroa, engaging and managing consultants and contractors, working within agreed schedules, finances and reporting, as well as proactively managing risk and communications with key stakeholders.

The role will also support the development of the Detailed Business Case by leading workstreams that ensure the case for change is clearly defined, intended benefits are measurable and achievable, and planning for the transition to business-as-usual post construction is thorough. 

The role will also play a key role in the management of health and safety for staff, consultants and contractors involved in delivering the project on the group, so a thorough understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and your role within it is a must.

If you are passionate about delivering to a high standard and if you align with our Kaupapa then we want to hear from you! In particular, we'll be looking for evidence and/or examples within your application highlighting how you meet the following lead requirements:

• experience as a Project Manager successfully completing delivery of infrastructure projects within a PM framework
• demonstrated excellence with management of budget, risk, communications, contracts and contractor health and safety
• experience working in partnership with Iwi/Whanau/Hapū
• experience writing concise and clear documentation such as Business Cases, Memorandums, Decision Papers, Procurement and Contract Documents
• ability to be flexible, adaptable and dynamic to respond to changes in priorities
• ability to work positively and productively with stakeholders, colleagues, and team members
• high level or proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Project and Power Point.

Desirable:

• experience working with a range of project/programme methodologies
• qualifications in relevant project/programme methodologies, e.g PRINCE2 or PMI
• competency writing, managing and delivering under CCCS and NZS3910/3915/3916 Contracts

This role is intended to be based in Auckland, however we support flexible working options and will consider Whangarei, Dargaville or Kerikeri also potential locations for the candidate with the right capabilities.
