About our Group

Secondary Tertiary – covers the transition from senior secondary through to tertiary and employment. Our focus is on quality teaching and learning, NCEA and on pathways to support young people to make successful and coherent decisions on steps to further study and training.


About the role

The Lead Adviser Pathways leads the development and implementation of programmes and initiatives to increase achievement, improve retention and progression of young people into further learning, training or work. The Lead Adviser supports the design of initiatives which help learners develop the competencies they need for study, work and life-long learning.  The role provides advice on policy development and design for senior secondary learners by using knowledge from research, analysis and other relevant information.  The Lead adviser will work collaboratively with education agencies, sector leaders and providers on change initiatives to support improvement by focusing on what is and isn't working to tailor and customise approaches to meet needs. 


About the person

The person in this role will ideally have had prior secondary middle or senior leadership and/or tertiary/ITO experience, a knowledge of Vocational Pathways and other Youth Guarantee inititives, be able to lead complex projects, work at pace and be agile in managing multiple priorities.  Your personal qualities will include taking pride in producing written work of the highest quality every time.  You will have strong design and evaluative capability with a proven ability to get the job done.
