An opportunity has arisen for an experienced, dynamic and innovative education professional to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to play a part in championing 21st century teaching and learning and positively influencing change and participation of early learning services in Communities of Learning | Kāhui Ako within the Hawke's Bay/Tairāwhiti region.

This role will give you the opportunity to work in partnership with sector leaders and communities to support them to achieve successful educational outcomes for children and young people. You must be able to influence others and be able to back this up with knowledge, skills and experience in improving student engagement and achievement. You will support and facilitate the participation of early learning services in Communities of Learning | Kāhui Ako by providing data and information to interested schools, kura and early learning services.

To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • Experience in dealing with complex relationships, including influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in building successful relationships with a range of groups and individuals.
  • Experience in leading and working with others to support and implement change initiatives.
  • A qualification and/or experience in managing an early learning service is desirable.


We are looking for people who ideally will have:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand education system and relevant legislation.
  • An understanding of the relationship between policy intent and the range and combination of tools available for implementing new initiatives.


The position is a two year fixed term position that will report to the Manager Education Hawke's Bay/Tairāwhiti. The role is based in our Napier office.
