Secondary Tertiary - covers the transition from senior secondary through to tertiary and employment. Our focus is on quality teaching and learning, NCEA and on pathways to support young people to make successful and coherent decisions on steps to further study and training.

About the role 

The Senior Manager Pathways leads the development and implementation of programmes and initiatives to increase achievement, improve retention and progression of young people into further learning, training or work. The Senior Manager is responsible for the design and development of initiatives which help learners develop the competencies they need for study, work and life-long learning.  The role provides advice on policy development and design for senior secondary learners by using knowledge from research, analysis and other relevant information.  The Senior Advisor will manage relationships and work collaboratively with education agencies, sector leaders and providers to on change initiatives to support improvement by focusing on what is and isn't working to tailor and customise approaches to meet needs.   

About the person 

The person in this role will ideally have held a senior leadership in education, have a thorough knowledge of Youth Guarantee initiatives, have experience in the design and development of complex projects, be able to work at pace and be agile in managing multiple priorities.  Your personal qualities will include taking pride in producing written work of the highest quality every time.  You will have strong design and evaluative capability with a proven ability to get the job done.
