About us

Education Infrastructure Service (EIS) as a part of the Ministry manages one of the largest property portfolios in New Zealand, composed of approximately 2,500 primary and secondary schools and over 8,000 hectares of land with a carrying value of $16.5 billion.  EIS is also responsible for managing school payroll, school transport and for the delivery of information communication technology in schools.  EIS undertakes around 3,000 projects per annum; a combination of Ministry and School led projects costing at least $800m per annum.

About the role

The purpose of the Finance Support Analyst role within the EIS group is to work as part of the Capitalisation Team and assist with the analysis and data entry of capitalisation transactions, to assist with write-offs and provide general support to EIS Finance.

Your key priorities will include: 

  • Updating the in-house systems with asset changes and capitalisation transactions
  • Updating the Capitalisation Register as capitalisation transactions are processed
  • Processing write-offs and project closures
  • Assisting with the creation of process documents that describe the steps required to undertake capitalisation tasks.

About you

You will have experience in the Finance area, ideally in capitalisation, and experience in a property environment would be an advantage. 

You will also offer:

  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Intermediate MS Excel
  • Very good written and verbal communication skills
  • An ability to quickly pick up on training and instructions to be able to progress with the key tasks.
