Join our vibrant and committed team providing support for children and young people with significant special education needs.

You will work as part of a 0-21 multi-disciplinary collaborative team. Our teams provide ecological assessment and intervention, advising and supporting families, working with early childhood services and transitioning children into schools, supporting inclusive practices. The position is permanent and is based in Hamilton.


You will need strong teaming skills and the competency to establish effective relationships with whānau, parents, families, educators and key providers working within the community. 

An awareness and sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity, a strong commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi, the Ministries priorities and the Māori education strategy ‘Ka Hikitia', are essential.  A knowledge of Te Reo me ngā Tikanga and previous successful engagement with Māori is highly desirable.

Applicants must have three years teaching experience as a registered early childhood teacher, and ideally will have gained a postgraduate diploma in early intervention. A current driver's license is required. The Ministry of Education has an equal opportunities policy.
