Pathways and Progress - Early Learning and Student Achievement

About the group 

The role of the Pathways & Progress group is to set the direction for what students learn, how they progress and how school leaders and teachers support equity and excellence for every child and student across school years 1 to 13.


The group uses evidence and educational trends to design targeted solutions, resources, tools and services that lift educational achievement for all.


The group co-designs and co-develops innovative initiatives that achieve policy intentions, plans successful implementation strategies and monitors them to ensure a return on investment.

About the role 

We have two adviser positions available - one in the Curriculum Support team and one in Change and Implementation team. The Advisers, Pathways and Progress will oversee projects within their team and lead pieces which are integral to larger pieces of curriculum development work. We are looking for people who:

  • Able to write well
  • Have interpersonal savvy
  • Are well-organised and able to manage multiple pieces of work
  • Can work collaboratively

About the person 

The person in an adviser role will be able to work at pace and manage set tasks and projects, but also will notice pressure points, take the initiative, and act.  Your personal qualities will include taking pride in producing written work and other forms of communication of the highest quality every time, and have  a proven ability to get the job done.  In this role you will be expected to have the kind of interpersonal savviness that means you relate well with all kinds of people.  You will have the background experience and skills that contribute to the team providing high quality services to the sector and across the Ministry.
