The Organisation

The Ministry of Education's purpose is to be the lead advisor on the education system, shaping direction for educational agencies and providers and contributing to the Government's goal for education.

Hudson have the pleasure of working with the Data and Information Stewardship (DIS) group to secure passionate data experts who want to be part of their data journey.  Their vision is to enable the organisation to be better at the collection, evaluation and dissemination of data in order to provide an exceptional customer experience for all New Zealand educational users.  The DIS group has numerous needs at both management and specialist roles within data warehousing, data management and information management.

The Role of Quality Assurance Lead (DIS)

The Quality Assurance Lead is a pivotal role that oversees the work schedule of the Data team.  Supporting the Manager Data, they will take the lead in ensuring work is allocated appropriately to the data team members and that the quality meet's customer expectations.

Constantly juggling competing deadlines, work may need to be reprioritised or reallocated and as the senior operational lead in the team, you will take ownership of ensuring data objectives are met.

Having a passion for data, you will not settle for mediocre quality and take pride in knowing that work being produced by the team is of the highest standard.  You are strong at assessing needs and interpreting these needs into data assurance processes. 

The Person

This is the perfect role for a senior Data Analyst who enjoys influencing and using their data expertise to advise and provide direction without having staff management responsibilities.  You are innately curious about what can be achieved through data and are a strong relationship builder who can listen to your customer's needs and meet their expectations.

You enjoy coaching others and developing and lifting the team's capability through the development of quality standards.  You are a strong negotiator who thrives on problem solving and juggling a number of tasks

You enjoy dealing with complex datasets, have extraordinary organisational skills and love doing whatever is required to help the team. 

Experience using SAS, SQL or similar tools are required.
