The Ministry of Education is seeking an effective and enthusiastic Senior Support Officer to join the Business Support team in our Graduate Achievement, Vocations and Careers group in Wellington.  This role provides administrative support for two senior managers in an energetic team environment. 


The successful applicant will be proactive, have excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team.  You will need to have the following skills, attributes and experience:

  • A sound knowledge of administrative systems and procedures, including experience in the mechanics of Ministerial correspondence;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite, with particular emphasis on Outlook;
  • An ability to multi-task and to meet tight deadlines;
  • Good relationship management skills;
  • An ability to work happily as part of a team, in what can be a high pressure environment;


This is a job share role for someone who can do 19 hours per week on the following schedule:
