Analyst

Auckland - Permanent Position

 

Now is an exciting time at the Ministry of Education in Auckland.  We have around 400 staff spread over 4 offices.

 As an Analyst you will be a member of the regional Performance and Quality Lead team providing data and information to managers and their teams across the four offices. Data will be provided through the collection, collation and analysis of information from a range of sources to inform the regions planning.

 

You will produce one-off or repeatable solutions to questions by manipulating large and complex data sets. The role includes developing and reporting on indicators of performance, analysing and monitoring trends and contributing to evaluation work. At times you will need to provide information quickly to assist with answering questions raised by external groups.

 

  Your skills and experience will include:

  • A tertiary qualification or relevant experience with quantitative/qualitative  analysis
  • Knowledge and understanding of, and ability to utilise, appropriate techniques to aid analysis
  • Skills in working with qualitative and quantitative data
  • An understanding of quality assurance and self/peer-review practices
  • Ability to build constructive and effective relationships
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to write succinctly and concisely
  • Effective communication skills and ability to present information in a confident, clear, and concise manner
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and databases
