Government Executive and Ministerial Services 

Based in Wellington


The Ministry of Education works to shape an education system that delivers equitable and excellent outcomes. 

The Government, Executive and Ministerial Services (GEMS) team works at the interface between the Ministry, ministerial offices and Parliament.  We work to ensure the Ministry is transparent and accountable. 

We are currently looking for high performing Advisers to join our team.  We have a mix of fixed term and permanent roles, so we open to considering secondments and short term arrangements.

You will be part of a team that is responsible for responding to correspondence, Official Information Act requests and Ombudsman inquiries.  The GEMS team also manages the Ministry's engagement with our Select Committee, and coordinates and produces some of the Ministry's key reports. 

We're looking for people with strong written and oral communication skills.  You will be experienced in managing and delivering your work on time, and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, in a wide range of positions.  You will be self-aware, and committed to your professional growth and development.
