Full time, permanent, South Canterbury (Timaru office)


Are you a psychologist motivated to use your skills in the education sector to make difference in the lives of young people? We have an opportunity for you to join our Learning Support team delivery services across South Canterbury.


As a psychologist you will use your skills and knowledge to help children and young people with behavioural or learning difficulties. You'll work with the child, their families and teachers to help them understand the child and their behaviour and help create an individualised plan to support learning and development. You will join a multi-disciplinary team where we work in a collaborative way.  Knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum would be an advantage.


The ability to work collaboratively, have strong written/oral communication skills, establish and maintain effective relationships with a range of people are requirements of this position.  

An awareness and sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity, a commitment to the Treaty of Waitangi and the Māori education strategy ‘Ka Hikitia', is essential. 

You must be registered, or eligible for NZ registration, as a Psychologist under the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act to apply for this position

A current New Zealand driver's license is necessary as travel will be required.
