The Early Learning and Student Achievement Group sets the system-level learning for every child and student. Working between policy and customer facing functions, there is a significant political, stakeholder and public interest in the high performance of this group and the education curriculum and teaching workforce outcomes we seek for New Zealand.  


About Pathways and Progress

The role of the Pathways & Progress team is to set the direction for what students learn, how they progress and how school leaders and teachers can achieve that for every child and student across school years 1 to 13.

The team uses evidence and educational trends to design targeted solutions, resources, tools and services that lift educational achievement for all.

The team co-designs and co-develops innovative initiatives that achieve policy intentions, plan successful implementation strategies and monitor to ensure a return on investment.


About the role

The coordinator supports the work of the Programme Manager to ensure essential process actions are supported and delivered to timelines. The support the coordinator provides will be to ensure the group delivers on its various ministerials and group reporting requirements. The coordinator will record the activities, maintain group reporting and allocation of ministerials. This role provides coordination support across the group as required. It is strongly customer focused, in a busy group and is a critical support.

The person in this role works at pace and manages set tasks, as well as noticing pressure points and taking the initiative to resolve them. Your personal qualities include taking pride in tracking activities and you have a proven ability to get the job done. You have the kind of interpersonal savviness that means you relate well with all kinds of people. Your background experience and skills contribute to the team providing high quality services to the sector and across the ministry.
