About us

Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, creates and supports safe, healthy, inspiring and ICT enabled learning environments. EIS manages the Crown's second largest property portfolio of around 2,500 schools with a book value of $17.8 billion, is responsible for the largest payroll in the country, and transports over 100,000 students to and from school each day.

About the role

As the Procurement Manager you will lead the team that is responsible for EIS commercial procurement. This role provides practical and technical advice in the area of strategic sourcing and procurement. You and your team will provide assistance, support, advice, direction and leadership for procurement activities to ensure our internal stakeholders' needs are anticipated and met, and that opportunities with suppliers and markets are developed.

About you

We are looking for an experienced people leader with an in-depth knowledge and substantial experience with government procurement and experience with applying the Government Rules of Sourcing.

You will have extensive experience working with public and private stakeholders and be able to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders. You will have the ability to prioritise and multi-task in an environment where workloads can escalate quickly. Great attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively and a good ‘team fit' are also essential.

Ideally a successful candidate will also have   In-depth knowledge of the tools and techniques used in supply chain management. Qualifications in Level 6 Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply and be eligible or. working towards Associate Member (Level 4) of CIPS and/or have a relevant tertiary qualification.
