Psychologist / Special Education Advisor

Kaiwhakaora Hinengaro/Kaitohutohu Mātauranga

Full Time positions based in Nelson.

 

Seeking applicants with an interest in working in behaviour

 

We are seeking an energetic, innovative, and highly motivated individual, who is looking to make a difference.

 

The position requires delivery of a behaviour service in Early Childhood and School Sectors. You will be expected to work with the adults around the child or. young person to promote their wellbeing, positive behaviour and achievement.

 

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and contribute in a multi-disciplinary team, establish effective relationships with parents, families/whanau, educators and others working in the community.

Psychologist applicants must be registered or. eligible for registration with the New Zealand Psychologist Registration Board.

We welcome applications from Teachers with post graduate qualifications (complete or underway), relevant experience in supporting students with challenging behaviour, to work as a Special Education Adviser.

A current driver's licence is required. The Ministry of Education has an equal opportunities policy.

Knowledge of tikanga and Te reo Māori would be an advantage, given our commitment to the principles of The Treaty of Waitangi.
