At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whānau.

We help shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary. We do this by building relationships and understanding the needs of those who receive our services.

About our group and team

The Ministry of Education Procurement team is a leader in NZ government. We work across the Ministry and the education sector to ensure critical services, capabilities and infrastructure are in place so together we can make a bigger difference for more students.

Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role

The Procurement Coordinator is an entry level role in the Corporate Procurement team and supports the Procurement Leadership team (4 leaders) with administration support. The remaining responsibilities will be to work with Procurement Managers and the wider team on assigned procurement projects and day-to-day procurement activity.

We are looking for someone with initiative, a great attitude, and an ability to work to multiple customers. If you are organised and enjoy multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment with development opportunities, this might be the role for you.

To be successful in the role, you'll be working collaboratively with key stakeholders, developing relationships across our Corporate Procurement team and sometimes beyond.

You will also offer:

  • Great skills in Microsoft Office
  • A strong customer service focus

We have a flexible and family-friendly work environment, great opportunities to learn and grow, with some cool, forward-thinking managers to work with and learn from. Prior exposure to procurement would be nice, but it is not a must have.
