We have some exciting permanent and fixed-term opportunities within the team that sets our organisation up for success.  You'll have excellent attention to detail and keenness to make sure our people leaders shine and our employees feel valued, welcome and confident - from the beginning to the end of their journey with us.

As an Assistant HR Advisor you'll play an integral role in supporting our people leaders within a busy team working with a high volume of queries and delivering on payroll actions. You'll provide the first line of advice and support on day-to-day HR issues including queries related to terms and conditions, processes and procedures, remuneration, payroll and general employment.

This is the role that will give you a true foundation and pathway to a career in HR, and you'll have an opportunity to see the inner workings of a big HR function.  We've established a career pathway within the team which  allows you to build your skills across the range of HR activities; we have a proud history of promoting our team internally.

You'll support our people leaders with confidence and an enquiring mindset ensuring you find out the information you need to finish the ‘puzzles'. 

About our group and the People Services team

The People Capability group supports people leaders to build high-performing teams capable of delivering on our purpose. In addition to our core HR and recruitment advice, we also provide advice and support with expertise in workforce planning, capability development, diversity and inclusion, organisational design, employment relations and wellbeing.

The People Services team (made up of Payroll and MyHR) are hard-working and focused as well as social, collaborative and diverse. We connect well to ensure we all succeed.

The most important attributes you'll bring are a willingness to learn, passion and enthusiasm, and customer services background.  You will also have:

  • Administrative and customer service experience
  • Strong time management and prioritising skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Integrity and ability to maintain confidential information
  • High levels of attention to detail and accuracy in a busy deadline driven role
  • An interest in human resources - ideally with a related degree or studying within a related field, however we're keen to hear about your passion for anything people related.

The salary range is $54,079 to $60,087 gross per annum dependent on experience.
