Delivery Manager at NZ Ministry of Education, Waikato

Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role

The Delivery Managers are responsible for developing effective relationships and trust with schools and other internal and external stakeholders and ensuring that consultants are working effectively and efficiently to deliver school infrastructure projects on time, to budget and to scope as set out in the project brief. The Delivery Managers will oversee a group of capital projects (building construction) and will follow and work within Ministry and TPHM policy, procedures, and guidelines.

Key skills:

  • Management of end-to-end school building construction projects in a fast paced and complex portfolio
  • Stakeholder relationship management with a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Problem solving and collaboration to deliver great results with maximum impact

Salary range: $110,923 - $135,573 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

Mōhou ake | About you

You are a Project Manager looking to step up to the next level, with relevant construction knowledge, and a strong track record of using project management methodologies and organisational processes to achieve efficient outcomes, manage risks and implement lessons learnt. Understanding of the full end to end project management from business case to completion of the project. You relish the opportunity to shape how we work to help us provide the best learning environments for New Zealand's future generations and can hit the ground running in this critical role. Mātau rōpū ake | About our ministry, group, and team

At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ākonga and whanau. To better deliver on this, we are currently undergoing an organisational design change. The transition phase to improve the way we deliver our purpose will be complete in 2023.
