About our group and team

Te Mahau | Te Tai Runga is a frontline group. Our frontline groups collectively provide leadership and integrated services to the sector and others. This includes services such as learning support, education advice, regulation and network functions for schools and early learning services. We do this through coordinating and delivering responsive solutions in order to realise the local education priorities and goals.

About this role

We are seeking a dynamic, proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our team in the Christchurch office. The team have been taking various action to bring to life the vision of Te Ara Whiti @ Te Urutī (our regional change plan) - ‘our people, our organisation, our system will be confident and capable in taking effective Tiriti honouring and racial equity actions'.  If you value variety and challenge in your work, have a passion for improving educational achievement for all students/children, particularly Māori and Pasifika, and are committed to building collaborative relationships and finding new ways to do things differently, this could be the role for you. 

 

The Lead Adviser Early Childhood Education coordinates the implementation of early childhood initiatives across the region. They will support the translation of policy into day-to-day implementation work including regulatory processes, project planning, risk management, monitoring and evaluation.

 

Do you have?

  • A relevant qualification
  • A knowledge and understanding of the NZ education system in particular Early Learning
  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative working skills
  • The ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga.
  • A solutions and values-based approach

  • Build trusting relationships and work confidently and effectively with ECE's and other stakeholders
  • Work with others to lead and implement change initiatives
  • Support team members to provide high quality documentation, following required processes to effectively manage and meet regulatory requirements
