MfE's Policy Implementation and Delivery (PID) rōpū has a stewardship role in enabling environmental policy intention into positive reality. PID leads the planning and management of policy implementation, bringing together integrated partnerships iwi/Māori, partner agencies, local government, councils, industry and the scientific community to achieve collaborative, transformational delivery of environmental reforms.

Part of the Government's Essential Freshwater Package, Freshwater Farm Plans are plans for managing environmental effects on farms, with a focus on freshwater.
2023 is a big year for the Freshwater Farm Plan programme. We've spent the past year designing and testing the system– now is the time to commence delivery. For that we need excellent relationship managers who are on board with our strategic goals and who also appreciate the realities on the ground. We are committed to implementing a fit-for-purpose system that delivers value to all. Therefore, your ability to provide sound strategic advice and to bring users on board will be essential.
The Senior Analyst – Freshwater Farm Plans will be working with internal and external partners across Aotearoa New Zealand to continue to develop the Freshwater Farm Plan system, and to ensure it is delivered effectively and efficiently. Doing this means you'll need to be in touch with what is happening on the ground – so you won't just be working in an office in this role. You will be working with our key partners to develop and deliver the Freshwater Farm Plan system, including industry representatives, local government, tangata whenua, farmers and growers, with a focus on working with tangata whenua.
As a Senior Analyst you will be expected to support and coach more junior members and to lead discrete pieces of work. In this you'll be supported by a group of experienced, enthusiastic and supportive professionals spread out across the country.

- Culturally capable in Te Ao Māori with significant experience in partnering with and for iwi/Māori
- Experienced in, or have a good understanding of, the primary sector;
- Politically astute with experience in local and central government processes, systems and tools;
- Highly agile, adaptable and resilient;
- A skilled communicator with the ability to translate complex issues clearly to a range of audiences;
- An experienced relationship manager.
Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary range
Salary range for this role is from $101,802 up to $124,424 pa. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
