We are seeking Senior Advisors to join the Resource Management Reform Policy teams. These roles offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant Resource Management (RM) reforms.
- The RM Policy Fast Track team is responsible for delivering the fast-track approvals legislation the focusing on RM Reform policy work.
- The RM Policy Phase 3 team is tasked with scoping and delivering Phase 3 of the RM reforms.
Both teams are responsible for:
- Providing robust analysis and advice on RM reform policy to Ministers
- Developing regulatory and legislative solutions
- Collaborating with other government agencies on policy development
- Drafting advice, including briefings, Cabinet papers, and consultation material
- Engaging with stakeholders and partners to inform and shape policy decisions
- Supporting the development of legislation and managing Parliamentary processes

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Understanding of the machinery of government
- Experience in policy development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex issues and develop solutions.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with policy experts and subject matter specialists
- Desirable but not essential: familiarity with the Resource Management Act (RMA), planning, and resource management systems.
- For senior roles: proficiency in mentoring and coaching junior staff, and experience leading complex projects.
Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary range
Salary range for the Senior Advisor is $108,976 up to $132,277 p/a. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
