About the Role
We have a permanent, part-time opportunity available to join our Central regional team as an Immunisation Support Worker.
Immunisation Support Workers support the promotion and protection the health and hauora of communities, with particular emphasis for Māori and other priority populations
The primary purpose of the role is to promote the importance of the NZ Immunisation programme to help improve immunisation coverage rates, particularly for Māori, Pacific and those living in Quintile 5 Tamariki from Vaccine preventable diseases. You will also support the Authorised Vaccinators to provide a high quality outreach immunisation service for the Tamariki in Hawkes Bay.

About you
You will be open minded, quality driven, and can work both independently while being a valued member of a supportive, friendly team demonstrating advanced communication skills with the ability and passion to work with a diverse range of children and their families/whānau. You will be required to work with a range of teams and audiences in this role so you will need to be an excellent communicator who is able to engage with stakeholders and network across the NPHS Central regional teams and the wider organisation.
- NCEA level 2 or equivalent undergraduate certificate or diploma
- Previous experience working in the health sector, school or ECE environment with children and young people
- Current full New Zealand drivers' licence
- Excellent time management skills, personal resilience and the ability to flexibly adapt to changing work priorities
- Experience in applying critical thinking, using sound judgment to develop options and knowledge of the machinery of government, and policy development, is preferable
- With the support of Health NZ, you will proactively take care of your own health and safety, to ensure a safe and supportive work environment
