We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Communications Advisor to join us on a fixed term basis until the end of June 2019.


You will work alongside the Principal Communications Advisor and will provide communications support for a broad range of stakeholders with a particular focus in external audiences at both a strategic and operational level.


You will be a communications expert with the following:

  • Public or private sector communications experience at a senior level with a strong and fast-paced business results focus, programme experience a big advantage;
  • Outstanding written skills, including the ability to turn technical information into readable material without losing the meaning;
  • Strong relationship management skills at all levels;
  • Proven experience across a full range of communications channels including internet and intranet, events, newsletters, articles, presentations, A/V, speeches and original media;
  • An ability to quickly develop trust and confidence around you due to your credibility, thoroughness and ability to think ahead and consistently deliver, even in tight timeframes or ambiguous situations.


You'll work with top-notch experts and be exposed to an incredibly varied range of communications tasks such as:

  • Working with the Principal Communications Advisor, in collaboration with the Marketing Team, developing a proactive communications and stakeholder management plan and maintaining the BT communications and stakeholder management plan to build awareness of BT for external stakeholders;
  • Working with the Principal Communications Advisor, developing a monthly pack of information to support Account Management‘s interaction with external stakeholders such as government agencies, large business, banks, the tax industry and software developers;
  • Coordinating the development of material including presentations, posters, speeches and other communications collateral to support IR attendance at conferences, exhibitions and other stakeholder's events.
