Job Description

  • Interpret the technical and convey the complex in plain English
  • Fixed Term Opportunity for 18 months
  • Wellington based role

Inland Revenue plays a vital role in the lives of Kiwis and our mission is to contribute to the economic and social wellbeing of all New Zealanders.  Great things are happening here with plenty of challenge, variety and growth potential on offer.

Our Corporate Planning and Reporting team help tell Inland Revenue's planning and performance story.  They figure out what information is really saying and translate that for audiences including executive leaders, governance boards and external stakeholders.  As a senior advisor in the team you will plan and lead chunky pieces of work and prepare internal governance board papers and key external accountability documents. You will also contribute to the development and reporting of organisational performance measures.

Who's right for the role?

You will thrive in this role if you have a well-rounded set of skills and experiences to draw on. This includes:

  • Experience preparing board papers and accountability documents and reporting on organisational performance, preferably within the Public Sector
  • Able to interpret and present information in a visual and easy to understand way for different audiences
  • Great at relationships with the courage and confidence to speak up, challenge and influence at senior levels
  • High EQ and self-awareness – to know when to speak, when to listen and when to act
  • Able to operate well in ambiguity
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

What's in it for you?

The work covers the entire organisation and the team's networked way of working (pulling teams together for different projects) means the variety and scope you're exposed to is interesting and challenging.  You will be joining a dedicated team that has a people first focus and we can offer flexibility, on-going learning and professional development.
