Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
You are a rock star cloud engineer specialising in AWS and have AWS Professional and Specialty certifications under your belt. You are passionate about AWS and want to evangelise about it both within Toitū Te Whenua and within other AWS communities in New Zealand and the public sector.
You will be designing, building, operating and securing the common infrastructure used by our DevOps teams to launch their products on AWS to the world. You will also be negotiating work with vendors who deliver products or services on our AWS platform and monitoring their performance and delivery.
You will be an AWS guru within Toitū Te Whenua and the DevOps teams will look towards you and your team for AWS expertise and guidance. You will drive the AWS Community of Practice (CoP) within Toitū Te Whenua and will represent Toitū Te Whenua and New Zealand in various external AWS communities. You will be the point of contact for Toitū Te Whenua for the AWS account team, Technical Account Manager and Solution Architects.
Salary band is 21: $112,849-$152,677.

- You are capable of working within a team of AWS, Azure and network engineers to design and deliver infrastructure, integration and application solutions around AWS while addressing a variety of technical needs & issues including:
- automation/self-service
- security concerns around identity & access
- data privacy and protection
- CI/CD and security practices
- High availability, scalability and/or resilience
- Monitoring, self-healing, and cost postures
- You have well demonstrated experience as a software or infrastructure engineer on the design, build and run phases of a complex AWS environment
- You have a can-do customer focused attitude
- You have AWS Professional level and Specialty level certifications
- You want to grow your personal brand by becoming the face of AWS at Toitū Te Whenua, in the New Zealand public sector and in other AWS communities.
