 Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

You have taken a computer related degree course at Uni after playing around with computers at home and at school for years. You are interested in working in the field of IT and want to get started learning about cloud computing technologies prevalent in the business world today. You are curious about new upcoming fields within IT like Machine Learning and Quantum Computing.

You will be learning hands on about the AWS cloud from Toitū Te Whenua's cloud engineers and DevOps engineers. You will be guided along a path to designing, building, operating and securing the common infrastructure used by our DevOps teams to launch their products on AWS to the world.

You will become proficient at first and then expert on AWS through a combination of coaching, training and hands on experience. You will become part of the AWS Community of Practice (CoP) within Toitū Te Whenua and will get a chance to represent Toitū Te Whenua and New Zealand in various AWS communities. You will have access to and work with a variety of AWS experts through our vendors and the AWS account team.

 He pūkenga tou - Skills & Experience:

  • You will be a recent information technology graduate and may have some work experience under your belt
  • You will have a passion for Information Technology, and in particular learning about and delivering solutions around AWS, while addressing a variety of technical needs and issues
  • Bringing your A-game every day to learning and applying your learnings
  • Being proactive, to identify innovation in the market for new technologies and tools
  • Ability to work within a team on current and new technologies and how to apply them in a NZ Government context
