Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
As part of our Organisational Performance function within Organisational Effectiveness at Toitū Te Whenua you will help protect and strengthen Toitū Te Whenua's operations.
As a data and business analyst, you will work with business groups, functions and teams to understand their business needs and provide them with insights. You will primarily work with our Planning & Performance and Risk & Assurance teams to develop and implement data analytics that provide business insights to support effective prioritisation, resource allocation, risk management and decision-making.
You will be curious and inquisitive about Toitū Te Whenua data and how this can be used to identify performance trends and any areas of risk and concern across the organisation. These will be used to drive our work programmes in a more effective and efficient way.
This is a great opportunity if you have recently achieved a relevant tertiary qualification and have some experience in applying your data analytical skills in a work environment. You will bring the deep technical skills and we will provide an environment for you to learn, grow, and develop your wider business acumen and soft skills. You will have an opportunity to work across the diverse parts of the organisation and engage at all levels.
He pūkenga tou - Skills and experience
- Proven experience evaluating business data resulting in improved decision-making processes within the organisation.
- Experience in eliciting business requirements to deliver technical information to a developer.
- Competence and experience to tailor ad-hoc report enquiries to produce specialised data outputs.
- Experience in Power BI, Advanced Excel, or similar BI tools. Preferable to have Azure/AWS experience, but not mandatory.
- Knowledge, skills, and experience of applying data analytics in a work environment.
- Building relationships with key stakeholders to understand their needs.
- Establishing strong connections with system and data owners to gain understanding of and access to data.
- Being agile and using your data analysis and interpretation skills to problem solve, being prepared to try new approaches and refine until fit for purpose.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with an ability to engage across diverse groups and roles.
- Presenting and reporting data analytics in a clear and compelling manner.

The Salary range for this role is: $71,339 - $96,517
