About Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand

Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand's key role is to ensure New Zealanders have accurate information about where people and places are, that people have confidence in their property rights, that Crown property is well managed for future generations, and ensuring responsible overseas investment. 

With offices in Wellington, Hamilton, and Christchurch Toitū Te Whenua provides service to the management of land titles, geodetic and cadastral survey systems, topographic information, hydrographic information, managing Crown property and supporting government decision-making around foreign ownership.

 

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

The Head of Location Information will hold and shape the vision for the Location Information business group. As a member of both the Senior Leadership Team and the Customer Delivery Leadership Team, the Head will be a key player in driving connection and integration across the organisation and with external stakeholders across the wider sector.

Toitū Te Whenua is evolving to be more integrated, influential, and successful; this exciting position reflects a real chance to be at the forefront of this change. The Head will find opportunities and create partnerships to enhance customer offerings.

More broadly, the role will work across a range of teams covering Positioning, Topography, Hydrography, Data, and Addressing/Properties. Across these areas, the Head will play an important role in leading a culture of high performance and customer centricity by championing best practice, innovation, and future thinking. Furthermore, the Head will set the direction of the business group with an initial focus on creating and bringing to life a customer centric vision, while developing, implementing, and driving an agile cultural change piece across the business group.

To be successful in this role, you will be a respected and inspiring senior leader - someone that can hold and articulate a strong vision for their people. You will be passionate about growing talent from within and developing cohesive and high performing teams. It will be key that you have the ability to build credible and long-lasting relationships across a myriad of stakeholders internally and externally and be comfortable representing Toitū Te Whenua in a range of settings. You will also have commitment to Toitū Te Whenua's role as a treaty partner and you will ensure a te ao Māori perspective is taken into account when shaping work.

You could currently be in a senior leadership role in a private sector business, but you are looking to take your skills and expertise to an organisation where you can make a direct impact to the people of New Zealand. You will have a background of innovation, development with a customer-centric view.

Finally, you will have robust knowledge of the geospatial industry with an ability to rise out of the detail taking a strategic view. You will be both confident and resilient in your approach with an ability to lean into, and own decision making, whilst driving the work programme forward.
