Intelligence Analyst - Monitoring and Intelligence (6 months) at Land Information New Zealand, Wellington

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

This role is available on Fixed Term or secondment for 6 months and supports Overseas Investment's National Interest and National Security and Public Order regimes. You will be providing cover for a key member of our team who is responsible for conducting intelligence research, collection, analysis and assessment tasks to help us to identify and manage foreign investment risk and review transactions of interest and provide advice to decision makers, including Ministers on important overseas investment regulatory matters...

To be successful in this role you will work closely with other teams across Toitū Te Whenua so you will have excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills. You will work with your intelligence counterparts across government.

You'll have an enquiring mind, and the ability to identify, analyse and make sense of a wide range of information or data, and the courage to challenge the status quo. You will have proven experience in sound intelligence practices, and have good commercial nous and judgement.

The Monitoring and Intelligence Team forms part of the Regulatory Practice and Delivery Group and is an integral part of Toitū Te Whenua. We support a variety of Toitū Te Whenua's regulatory regimes which benefit New Zealanders.

Your deep intelligence experience and expertise in collecting and collating a wide variety of information, building relationships, growing capability and providing innovative, technical solutions will play a significant role in the responsibility we hold to proactively scan, monitor and manage risk and compliance across a range of regulatory systems. This role provides a range of intelligence products, assessments, insights and support to the organisation; for multi-agency forums and relationships with partners across government is key.

  • An in-depth understanding of the machinery of government, particularly in a regulatory context, will be advantageous.

The annual salary range for this role at Intelligence Analyst level is $82,457 - $111,559 but we will also consider people who are qualified Senior Intelligence Analysts where the range is $95,846 - $129,674.
