Job Description

The Team Manager Project Delivery focuses on partnering with the business to deliver successful outcomes by providing highly dynamic, customer focused project and programme management services.

Reporting to the Group Manager, Enterprise Programme Management Office, you will work with a pragmatic and innovative approach to developing a team of Project Managers to be trusted advisors of the LINZ Project Delivery practice throughout the organisation.

You will be able to build effective relationships with key stakeholders from the get-go and identify the right capacity and capability required to successfully deliver on project expectations through a good grasp on each business group's work programme priorities and respective challenges. You will also have strong connections to the programme advisory and business analysis functions to ensure a well-rounded approach to delivery of the project portfolio. 

With a strong emphasis on promotion and continual improvement of the project management practice within LINZ, you'll be responsible for getting the right capability in place to ensure that future delivery needs are met and through the guidance and mentoring to team members, continue to build existing project and programme management capability.


We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in staff leadership and management
  • Significant experience with, and knowledge of, ICT in an enterprise context
  • Significant experience of both Project Management and Business Analysis principles and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with both suppliers and customers
  • Experience of sponsoring, project management or change management of a large work programme
  • Experience planning and managing budgets
  • In depth knowledge of Project Management and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) frameworks and supporting methodologies
  • Financial and business acumen (Experience in business case creation and budget management)
  • Knowledge of strategic and business planning processes
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
