Job Description

The Team Manager Business Consulting plays a critical role in the provision of business analysis capability across the organisation.

Reporting to the Group Manager, Enterprise Programme Management Office, you will work with a pragmatic and innovative approach to developing the team of Business Analysts, to be trusted advisors of the LINZ Business Consulting practice throughout the organisation.

You will focus on the promotion and continual improvement of the business analysis process within LINZ and drive engagement with business units to ensure they understand the added value that comes from working with the Business Consulting team. You will provide guidance and mentoring to team members, building overall business analysis and consulting capability.


We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  • Proven team leadership and management experience, with skills across people management, resourcing, mentoring and coaching
  • Experience within business analysis, documentation of requirements, business case creation and business analysis tools and frameworks
  • Excellent relationship management skills - with a customer focus, along the ability to build trust and provide advice to stakeholders and business managers on an enterprise level
  • Ability to align team capability and development to business demand and overall organisational strategic visions
  • A working understanding of project management and SDLC frameworks and processes
  • Ability to provide mentoring and coaching to team members and customers in business analysis techniques
  • Excellent ability in all forms of communication
