Job Description

  • Are you an engagement extraordinaire?
  • Are you passionate about connecting with communities and stakeholders?
  • Are you based in Christchurch?
  • If so, this exciting role in our Strategic and Digital Communications Group is perfect for you

At Land Information New Zealand (LINZ), our key role is to ensure New Zealanders have accurate information about where people and places are, that people have confidence in their property rights and that Crown property is well managed for future generations.

From the best way to develop farm land, build a new suburb, manage a high-country lease or navigate on land or at sea, our work and location information help people make better decisions and create economic, social, environmental and cultural value for New Zealand.

LINZ's behind the scenes role in Christchurch red zones is a communications and engagement challenge. The Global Settlement process provides an opportunity to ensure we highlight LINZ's role in a creative and engaging way.

Our strategic communications team is consequently looking for a communications account manager based in Christchurch who is up to helping us with ensuring the Global Settlement Agreement implementation process runs as smoothly as possible.  This is a fixed term (part time 20 hours per week) position through to the end of June 2021.

You will need to be passionate about connecting with communities and stakeholders; finding innovative ways to keep people up to date with progress as well as involving them in our work when required.  You will also need to be confident about providing advice to senior people about how best to achieve LINZ's engagement and communications objectives.

You are likely to have a diverse background in stakeholder/community engagement and significant experience in the communications profession.

In return, you can expect an interesting and friendly working environment, in which achieving results is rewarded.

This is a fantastic role which will allow you to be involved in challenging and politically visible work that impacts positively on Christchurch's future.

For further information on this role please contact Michelle Veisaku on 027 591 0725 or at MVeisaku@linz.govt.nz.

Applications close at 5.00pm on Sunday, 24 November 2019.
