We are now looking to refresh and strengthen our capability within CGI by focusing on the key areas where we are best placed to optimise organisational performance.  This next phase of our journey will ensure that we are well positioned to support the wider MBIE in Growing New Zealand for All.

This position is responsible for providing expert advice on health, safety and wellness and implementing effective strategies, policies and practices in agreed areas.

Specifically, the functions of this position are to exercise a wide range of generalist health and safety practitioner skills and expertise to support the team to create and maintain a proactive health, safety and wellbeing culture.

Skills and experience required:

To be successful you will need to be able to demonstrate significant strength and experience in:

  • Managing health and safety in a complex and high-risk safety sensitive environment
  • A demonstrable knowledge and understanding of current health and safety legislation and relevant regulations
  • Successfully promoting staff safety and developing management strategies to implement these operationally
  • Working with teams in dispersed geographical locations
  • Undertaking inspections and audits and preparing reports for senior management to promote continuous improvement
  • Carrying out detailed accident/incident investigations and leading on the means of implementing lessons learned
  • The development, preparation and monitoring of service delivery performance measures and  reporting against these
  • Or a good understanding of  the ACC Partnership Programme including the standards required for auditing the programme
  • Delivering hands on health and safety policy, procedures and systems, including data management and reporting

MBIE works to better support, connect and strengthen businesses and Grow New Zealand for All.
