Job Description

  • Fast-paced and high learning government decision making role. Sound like you?
  • Do you have sound administration experience and a passion for customer service?
  • Be a part of Immigration New Zealand and help them to achieve their objectives
  • The salary for this role will be approximately $45- $55K.
  • Hamilton Branch

Some people are able to look at a lot of information and see the story behind it.  Some people have an eye for detail, the analytical skills and that “hunch” that something's not as it should be. Well, these qualities, plus a natural passion for New Zealand and an enthusiasm about making a positive change to our economy - could all lead to an amazing career at the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment.

As an Immigration Officer processing visa applications, you'll be using that skill of taking a whole lot of information and making sound decisions as you process visa applications to make a big difference to New Zealand.

Our purpose is to grow the New Zealand economy so that Kiwis have a better standard of living, and so that our businesses perform better, both here and overseas. As an Immigration Officer, you'll be using immigration legislation, and your strong analysis, judgment and decision making abilities to make quality immigration decisions.

This could be your first step in your career that really takes you places. We have career development opportunities within the Ministry for hard-working performers, so you could take your career in whatever direction you choose.

You will need:

  • Experience in a high performance, customer service or service delivery environment:
  • Experience in a processing environment
  • A tertiary qualification is beneficial, however not a requirement
  • Advanced analytical skills

If you have the qualities we are looking for, if you have the ability to make sound decisions based on a wealth of information, and if you have personal integrity, we offer  extensive training including on-going on the job training in our Hamilton Branch
