Job Description

About the role

As the Senior Advisor Board Appointments & Governance position you'll be responsible for supporting and leading the appointments processes for Crown entities and statutory boards where that responsibility lies with MBIE.

You will build strong relationships with partner agencies and other MBIE teams, as well as working to gain insights into the future direction and needs of the entities for which MBIE provides Board appointment advice and support.

Skills and Experience

We are keen to hear from you if you:

  • Have good knowledge and understanding of the New Zealand public sector legal and governance frameworks for Crown entity and statutory boards
  • Have a strong understanding of the processes that underpin the operations of the public sector environment, including policy development, Cabinet and parliamentary processes, accountability and reporting.
  • Can quickly build rapport, credibility and relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating highly developed judgment in the context of senior stakeholders
  • Are highly organised and systematic in approach to work with strong attention to detail
  • Have an understanding how MBIE delivers outcomes for the Ministry.
