This is an exciting opportunity to join an established EPMO team as it works to improve portfolio investment planning and the delivery of programmes and projects across the Ministry. There is ample opportunity for learning and development – from being part of project health checks to through to mastering MS Project Server - the Ministry's Enterprise Project Management tool.

 

About the role.

We're looking for an energised Portfolio Analyst to join the EPMO team to help ensure that effective enterprise portfolio reporting is in place and the investment governance processes are managed effectively. The key activities are:

  • Performance analysis & reporting across MBIE's Investment Portfolio of projects
  • Supporting the efficient running of MBIE's investment governance boards
  • Supporting the application of the Ministry's project delivery framework
  • Supporting the project delivery tools created and maintained by the EPMO

 

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, with a positive can do approach to their responsibilities, and happy to roll up their sleeves and take on a broad range of tasks.

 

Skills and experience required:

  • 2 – 3 years working in a structured project delivery environment
  • Competent with MS Excel based analysis and reporting
    • A good understanding of best practice project delivery
    • Excellent written, analytical and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
    • Previous experience in the preparation and delivery of written reports
    • Strong attention to detail
