Job Description

As an Investment Manager/Senior Investment Manager, you will utilise your contract management expertise to manage science investment decision making processes and relationships with contract holders to ensure they are delivering against the policy intention.  You will use your relationship management skills to develop constructive and informed relationships with CRIs, independent research organisations, National Science Challenges and sector groups.

 

Our work programme is focussed on five strategic areas of science investment:

  • National Science Challenges
  • Strategic science investment fund – Programmes
  • Strategic science investment fund - Antarctic
  • Regional research institutes 
  • Food Safety Centre

This is a great opportunity to get involved with science initiatives which supports government goals in improving environment, social and economic outcomes. 

This is an influential role which will see you working across the science system, tapping into existing networks and forming new relationships with business and research organisations, CRI's, industry and sectors in order to better understand what their perspectives are.  

 

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Experience working in a science related role either within a research organisation, University, business or government
  • Experience in setting priorities, and making decisions around where funding is invested
  • Knowledge of the sectors we are working in: E.g. biological industries, environment, social
